Promote prosecutorial independence through monitoring and engagement (Ajara)

Project goal:

Reflect current situation in terms of crimes, motivated by both violence against women and hate, through alternative monitoring in the Adjara region; in this regard, identify challenges, existing in the region, and propose ways to address them.

Project objectives:

  • Prepare an alternative monitoring report on certain parts of the Action Plan of the Prosecution Service;
  • Develop a policy document in the Adjara region in accordance with the monitoring of crimes, motivated by both violence against women and hate;
  • Increase accountability of the Prosecution Service of Georgia to the public and promote the improvement of practices of criminal prosecution of crimes, motivated by violence against women and hate.

The project is funded by the European Union, while it is implemented in collaboration with the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), the Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC) and “Studio Monitor”.
