Law Of Adjara Autonomous Republic On Organization Of Tourism Has Entered Into Force

On May 16, 2007 Adjara Autonomous Republic has passed law on Organization of Tourism. Draft law has been elaborated by the working group made up of the Civil Society Institute representatives, Adjara Autonomous Republic Supreme Council Finance and Budget Committee members and Department of Tourism officials. Under the law on Organization of Tourism, means of self-regulation and cooperation with Autonomous Republic authorities and self-government bodies are to be established. The law is based on tourism self-regulation principles and, once followed, shall support increase of service quality and shall provide means for further development of tourism infrastructure Elaboration of the law on Organization of Tourism has began in July, 2006 and has been financially supported by OSCE Mission in Georgia. The law entered into force on May 29, 2007.
