Let’s Care About The Future


The joint event aimed to popularize the concept and practice of social entrepreneurship in Georgia. Social entrepreneurship gains more and more success in many countries worldwide and represents one of the effective ways to organize the activities in a new fashion and achieve the social objectives. Therefore, the joint event was not a single action and within the framework of partnership of the four organizations planned in this area are: information campaign, trainings of staff of potential social enterprises, grant competitions, consultations, sharing of foreign experience, organization of study tours, and advocacy.

The event held on 15th of December, which was attended by the representatives of international and local civil society organizations, donors and the authorities, consisted of several activities:

  • Exhibition-sale of goods created by the social enterprises and welfare organizations;
  • Social entrepreneurship in Georgia – annual report;
  • Award ceremony of winners of the journalist contest “Caring for Each Other” 2010.


Social enterprises and welfare organizations have exhibited information materials on their activities and presented the created goods. The guests could get familiar with and purchase biologically clean products, hand-made items, wood products, etc. 10 social enterprises and 21 welfare organizations have participated in the exhibition.

Social Entrepreneurship in Georgia – Annual Report

In 2008 the British Council, Eurasia Partnership Foundation, the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia and the Civil Society Institute have united to promote the social entrepreneurship in Georgia. A presentation was held on the activities and achievements, challenges and opportunities. Attending audience got familiar with the jointly implemented and planned activities. A joint initiative of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation and the Tbilisi City Hall – on the financial support of social enterprises within the framework of the grants issued by the Foundation and the “Cheap Credit” program of the City Hall – was announced. Implementation of this initiative will launch from 1 January 2011.

Award Ceremony of Winners of Journalist Contest “Caring for Each Other” 2010

“Caring for Each Other” – this is the name of the contest, which was founded by the Civil Society Institute for popularization and in-depth coverage of the social topics, and was held for the fourth time. The Civil Society Institute has announced the contest in the fall and its goal is to identify the best article, TV and radio stories and photograph covering social issues.
