Facilitate Applied Researches For Regional Development Of Georgia

Project goal

Make sure decisions, taken in regard to regional development policy in Georgia, are based on evidence and researches. This, in turn, ensures the introduction of principles of good governance, decentralization, public participation in the decision-making process, effective management of public finances, and sustainable regional development, which is a precondition for the well-being of Georgian citizens.

Project objectives

• Facilitate improvement of strategic planning and implementation capabilities of the Government of Georgia in the field of regional development;
• Provide consistent support to scientific institutions and research organizations of Georgia while they carry out applied researches aiming at demand-based analysis, baseline data collection, defining recommendations and implementation mechanisms in order to facilitate regional development;
• Facilitate the exchange of information on shortcomings and findings identified during the implementation of regional development policy and enhance sharing of relevant resources among scientific and research organizations of Georgia and the Government of Georgia.
