Project goal
“Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” serves to improve the civil society environment in Georgia. The aim of the project is to facilitate the sustainability of civil society, as well as to increase its role in political dialogue and development.
Project objectives
- Increase financial sustainability of civil society through diversification of funding sources, including the participation of the state and a private sector, creation of a favorable tax environment, as well as promotion of volunteering;
- Increase capacities, accountability, and credibility of civil society to enable them better represent political, economic, social, and cultural rights of the general public;
- Increase civic engagement in regions through more active cooperation of civil society with media, business, and local government;
- Support civil society activities and initiatives at both national and local levels in the field of public policy, especially in the context of reforms ongoing in the process of association with the EU.
Donors and Partners
The project is implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in collaboration with the Civil Society Institute (CSI), Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), and Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). The project is funded by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS).
